Connecting sources#
Your agent is only as helpful as the information it can access. trained.chat supports a wide variety of integrations to make syncing your documents simple:
- Files: Upload PDFs, text documents (TXT), Word files (DOCX), spreadsheets (CSV), or Markdown documentation.
- Websites: Paste any public website URL. Our crawler follows links to automatically extract, clean, and sync all text content.
- SaaS Integrations: Connect Notion databases, Google Drive folders, or Confluence spaces directly. Any changes made to these documents sync automatically.
Fact grounding#
Traditional AI assistants frequently guess or make up information. trained.chat eliminates this through strict fact grounding.
Before answering a user query, the agent performs a secure, real-time search across your connected knowledge base to locate relevant facts. The agent then constructs its response utilizing only that verified information. If the answer is not present in your files, the agent will politely decline to answer or route the question to a human teammate.
Page citations#
To build trust with your team and customers, every response includes clear, clickable citations. Underneath assistant answers, visitors will see exactly where the information came from (e.g. IT Handbook.pdf, page 12 or docs.company.com/shipping-policy).
Citations allow users to instantly verify answers, reducing customer support friction and increasing internal trust in the agent's decisions.
